JOB FUNCTION:
Perform various general service and production duties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Carrying out all daily task in a manner that advances Chartwells School Dinning Services’ at Dayton ISD visions and goals
o Reporting to work when scheduled, on time, in full uniform with exceptional personal hygiene
o Superior attendance is required
o Follow all food safety rules
o Follow all Physical Safety rules
o Main entrée cooking and short-order production
o Baking production
o Sandwich and salad production
o Customer mealtime service, includes serving customers and keeping the service line full, clean and organized
o Stocking shelves, receiving and properly putting orders away in correct storage areas
o Cashier duties (all cashier policies and cash handling procedures must be followed always)
o Properly storing leftover food
o Cleaning, dishwashing and garbage removal
• Cleaning of all stations, equipment, floors, and shelving
• Washing all dishes containers, pans and utensils
• All garbage removed from kitchen daily
o Taking part in monthly and yearly training as requested by the company
o Maintaining a competent rating of 3 or better on your yearly performance appraisal
o As you finish your assigned duties, report to immediate supervisor before clocking out
o Treat fellow associates and customers with respect and kindness
Responsible for: Baking
Job well done when: Products are baked or prepared according to recipes and specifications in quantities and varieties as directed by immediate supervisor. All finished products are packaged and labeled and merchandised as per Chartwells specifications. All production is recorded accurately on the production records.
Responsible for: Sandwich & Salad making
Job well done when: As directed by immediate supervisor, a variety of sandwiches and salads are made according to recipes and specifications in quantities sufficient for the day’s sales. All finished products are packaged and labeled and merchandised as per Chartwells specifications. All production is recorded correctly on the production records.
Responsible for: Entrée Cooking
Job well done when: The main entrée is prepared according to specifications, recipes and daily menu in sufficient quantity. Whenever possible, delicate entrée items such as pasta are cooked in small batches to maximize freshness and minimize holding time. Short order cooking is completed as required. All finished products are packaged and labeled and merchandised as per Chartwells specifications. All production is recorded accurately on the productions records.
Responsible for: Customer Service
Job well done when: Customers are served in a friendly, quick and courteous manager using proper service techniques and portioning guidelines. The associate shall be completely knowledgeable with the day’s menu prior to beginning meal service. Each customer is greeted, served using up-selling suggestions and are “thanked” appropriately. Customer complaints or concerns are handled positively and efficiently. All concerns are immediately brought to the supervisor’s attention for quick resolution.
Responsible for: Cashier
Job well done when: Customer orders are recorded accurately on the cash register for every transaction. Proper cash handling procedures and policies are followed in the collection and handling of monies. Proper documentation of cashier reports in place. Read sign and honor the cashier agreement.
Responsible for: Stocking & Receiving
Job well done when: All products for sale are to be stocked and merchandised according to planograms and supervisors directions. Product must be rotated to ensure freshness. When receiving dry, fresh, refrigerated and frozen good, HACCP handling and documentation are to be followed at all times. An atmosphere of teamwork is to be fostered by helping other associates whenever possible in stocking shelves or putting product away as orders are received or as time allows.
Responsible for: Cleaning and Dishwashing
Job well done when: Unit and all equipment within, i.e. utensils, baking sheets, fryers, grill, warmers, coolers, etc. are cleaned in accordance with Chartwells QA sanitation program and master cleaning schedule. Additional cleaning duties are carried out as required on a need by need basis.
Physical Demands:
Physical tasks-intermittent; standing walking, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching about, lifting and lowering 1 to 50 lbs, repetitive motion hand-wrist, elbow. |
